Hello, the new board has been very busy during this start-up period. Here’s a little about what we’ve been up to and who we are.
Presentations
In the 2026 board, everyone is new except for our Student Social Coordinator from 2025, who is staying on for one more year. First up is our President, Victoria Malm, who is soon finishing her Primary Teacher Education for grades 4–6. She has overall responsibility for the student union and makes sure everyone behaves :).
Next, we have our Vice President, Mohamad Ismail, who previously studied to become a subject teacher but is now considering applying to the HR program. He is responsible for our business relations and our website.
After that, we have our new Student Proxy, Dawan Rauf. He is studying to become a primary teacher for grades 4–6. He supports students who need help in their studies for various reasons.
Last but not least, we have our Student Social Coordinator, who is not new but is staying on for another year, Elin Svensson. She is also studying in the Primary Teacher Education program for grades 4–6. She manages our social media and organizes events so that you students have something to do outside of your studies.
We also have three elected board members. Two of them are Alma Malmborg and Tova Ekelund, who are President and Vice President of our social committee, Sexmästeriet. For those of you who are not familiar with Sexmästeriet, they organize events such as parties, formal dinners, pub crawls, and game nights. The last board member is Rebecca Blixt, who serves as our liaison between the student union and our internationalization project, Colours.
What has happened?
So, what has happened during January and February? From January 16–18, the student union board had a boarding camp. During this time, we discussed and planned what we will be working on during the first half of the year. We also reviewed our governing documents and statutes.
On January 21, the student union hosted a movie night where we provided snacks and watched a film in the auditorium. A super cozy event!
Between January 5–7, our President and Vice President participated in a member meeting with the Swedish National Union of Students (SFS) in Uppsala. During the meeting, propositions, student union funding, and policy documents affecting students across Sweden at the national level were discussed. Participation strengthens our union’s voice in national student policy work and ensures that our members’ perspectives are represented where decisions are made.
On February 11, we had another event. This time it was a spa evening at Badriket’s relaxation area. This is an event we have organized for the third time and it is very much appreciated.
Finally, we held our annual meeting on February 25. There, we reviewed the 2025 annual report and elected parts of a nomination committee that will appoint the student union board for 2027.
We at Kristianstad Student Union wish you a continued pleasant February and hope you’ve been doing well despite all the snow :).
