Proxies
As a student at Kristianstad University, you have access to two different types of student representatives: the student ombudsman and the student chief safety representative. Together, they work to protect your rights and provide support when problems arise during your studies. Whether the issue concerns examinations, treatment by staff, discrimination, or your work and study environment, they are there to listen, offer advice, and help you move forward.
Help and support from KSK
Kristianstad Student Union (KSK) exists to support you as a student. They can help with questions concerning both your studies and your work environment at the university.
A good study environment is important so that you can complete your education in the best possible way. Therefore, KSK wants students to be involved in the work of developing and improving the university environment. The university is a shared workplace for both students and employees, so students’ experiences and opinions are important.
Sometimes situations can arise that make it more difficult to complete your studies, for example problems related to examinations, how you are treated, or other aspects of your education. If you do not know who to contact, or if you need support in a particular situation, KSK can help you understand your rights and find a way forward.

If you have questions, concerns, or are experiencing problems, they recommend following these steps:
-
First, contact the person responsible for the situation. This could, for example, be a teacher, course coordinator, programme coordinator, or manager. Try to find a solution to the problem together.
-
Contact KSK if the problem remains. If you are not being heard or the situation is not resolved, you can contact the Student Ombudsman or Student Chief Safety Representative at the union. They will assess the matter and can either advise you directly or contact the relevant people at the university to try to resolve the situation.
-
Submit a formal complaint if necessary. If the problem still cannot be resolved, KSK will contact you again as a student. You may then have the opportunity to complete the form “Comments and Complaints.” The matter will then proceed for documentation and handling, with the Student Ombudsman among those involved. Once the matter has been handled, you will receive feedback and information confirming that the case has been closed.

Work Environment
Your study environment as a student is important. If you have questions, notice shortcomings, or have concerns about the working environment at Kristianstad University, you can contact KSK’s Chief Student Safety Representative by email at vordf@ksk.nu.
The Chief Student Safety Representative receives students’ concerns and can bring them to the attention of the university. In this way, we can work together to identify problems and contribute to a better and safer study environment.
