Foreword
The day has finally arrived for many students—we want to send a huge congratulations to everyone graduating this June! And to those heading off for summer break, we wish you a wonderful and relaxing summer!
What’s Been Happening
In early May, the Swedish National Union of Students (SFS) held their annual general meeting at Krinova, with over 40 student unions in attendance. We were in charge of hosting the dinners during the evenings, and wow—what amazing feedback we received! Looking back, it was a fun experience to organize... but maybe not something we’d volunteer for again anytime soon, haha.
Nelly participated in a seminar where FOHRK was introduced. FOHRK (Centre for Food, Health and Retail at Kristianstad University) is an interdisciplinary research environment with a focus on food, health, and retail. It addresses several of the complex societal challenges we face today, demanding collaborative and cross-disciplinary approaches. It was a truly engaging presentation, and we're excited to see where it goes!
HKRruset also took place recently—and what a blast it was! We at Kristianstad Student Union were thrilled to be part of it. Daniel and Nelly set up a water station in the middle of the race, handing out refreshing drinks to all participants. It was a great mix of students and staff from HKR, which was really fun to see. If you missed it this year, we highly recommend joining next time!
Our nomination committee is currently seeking new students for the Student Union Board 2026! The available positions are:
President
Vice President
Student Proxy
Study-Social Organizer
President of Sexmästeriet
Vice president of Sexmästeriet
Board Member
To apply, simply email valberedning@ksk.nu with your name, contact details, and a short presentation about yourself. The nomination period runs from May 15 to September 15—don’t miss out!
At the end of May, we also hosted a special Midsummer celebration and giving the international students the chance to experience this beloved Swedish tradition before heading back to their home countries. It was a truly appreciated event, and we hope this marks the beginning of a new annual tradition!
What’s Coming Up
The Executive Committee (AU) is continuing its planning for the fall semester—including the welcome weeks (GET HYPED!!) and other exciting activities. Make sure to follow us on social media in August so you don’t miss out on any updates.
Besides that, AU will continue attending meetings and representing your voices in the various councils and committees at HKR.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!
